ACN Success Story: a vehicle for a parish on the island of Sumba
Some time ago, Father Jakobus Umbu Warata, the provincial of the Redemptorist Fathers, sought our help for his fellow priests working in the parish of Saint Andrew Ngallu, in the east of the island of Sumba, who were in urgent need of a sturdy, all-terrain vehicle. Thanks to the wonderful generosity of our benefactors, we were able to raise the remaining $28,000 for this purpose. Now Father Jakobus has written to thank us: “Our heartfelt thanks for your efforts and your help. We are most grateful, and we are praying for you all. May God bless you, today and always!”
The vehicle has already arrived and been solemnly blessed. It will make an immense difference to the pastoral work of the parish, which counts 21 small chapels over a vast area, spanning a distance of up to 57 km from the parish centre, with roads barely worthy of the name. Many can only be navigated with an all-terrain vehicle. Father Leo, the parish priest, is delighted, as are all the Catholic faithful!
Our heartfelt thanks to all our benefactors for your help!
