A vehicle for a parish
Father Darko Anušić has a very heavy workload and is constantly on the move. In his Diocese of Banja Luka, in the north of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he is responsible not only for the two parishes of Mrkonjić Grad and Liskovica, but also for giving religious instruction in several different schools in the region and for the care of two cemeteries. On top of this, he also regularly assists in neighbouring parishes.
In his two parishes, he must celebrate Holy Mass daily. Additionally, he must visit the sick and elderly in their homes and in the care home, prepare the children and young people for First Holy Communion and Confirmation, distributing humanitarian aid to those in need, and much more.
Needless to say, in order to be able to cope with his many different tasks, he is dependent on a reliable vehicle. Not only must he travel many miles, but must do so on roads he describes as “catastrophic.” As the bus service is virtually non-existent, it is clear: he simply cannot manage without a car.
Father Darko Anušić has therefore turned to us for help with the $15,870 he needs for a new vehicle. His old car is no longer up to the task and he is fearful that it will very soon be beyond repair. We do not want to let this dedicated and hardworking priest down and trust that we can count on your support.
